Concerts in Santineketan, West Bengal, the home of Rabindranath Tagore

Shama Rahman will be performning at two concerts in Santineketan, West Bengal, the home of Rabindranath Tagore on 19th and 20th of November 2010.

A warm welcome to my website!!!

Kobi Guru Rabindranath Tagore pervades all parts of our lives. Though we have just celebrated the 150th Birth Annivesary of the great poet, he is immortal (in Bengali “tini chirodiner”), he is our constant companion (Ooni “chiro sathi amaader”). This site presents a small view of my efforts at holding high the art and ideals of Rabindranath, that are timeless, eternal and of boundless beauty. I hope you will enjoy it.I take leave of you with a prayer in the words of Gurudev himself:

“Rikto taar bokho bhedi aponare koro unmochon.
Bekto hok jiboner o joy, Bekto hok toma majhe asimero chirobisoy”

With gratitude for the stalwart support you all have given me,

Shama, Dhaka
